Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check
This year the year 4 child have taken part in the Multiplication Tables Check which is a statutory requirement for all children in year 4 to check their ability to recall times tables facts (within 12 × 12) fluently.
The on-screen assessment asked 25 times table questions and the children were given 6 seconds to answer each question which is a key skill that is important for future progression in mathematics. Children who have a fluent times tables knowledge are more able to focus their attention on the more complex calculations they are faced with as the progress through school.
