Bay Primary School
Making a Splash
At Bay Primary School we work closely with you and your child's feeder setting to ensure that all children have a smooth transition into school. Our Early Years curriculum aims to teach children the skills and knowledge in order that they reach the seventeen Early Learning Goals described in the Early Years Foundation Stage. In EYFS we teach through a range of methods including child-initiated learning, whole class teaching, group teaching, investigations, problem solving and independently. Many activities are play based; however, there is also a need for direct teacher led activities to ensure children gain essential knowledge and skills from their teacher and support staff. All activities are carefully modelled and children are given sufficient time, support and resources to repeat and practise them. Our EYFS curriculum is delivered through carefully planned themes, which have been chosen for specific reasons and are built upon within KS1, alongside building upon and supporting your child's interests.
We invite parents to open mornings and information events as we know that working in partnership is the best way to help your child settle into their new school. The Foundation Stage Prospectus will tell you all about how and what we learn. If you have any further questions then please contact us as we will be happy to arrange a tour or a meeting with our Early Years Leader.
