Virtual manipulatives to support learning at home

  • Toytheatre.com Provides virtual manipulatives including dice, counters, clocks and place value charts to support in your maths learning.

Base ten blocks are useful for practicing many different skills: place value, addition/subtraction, multiplication, measurement, and more. They allow children to create physical representations of numbers to build number sense. Base ten blocks make addition, subtraction, multiplication, and even division simple to visualise. 

 

Visualiser App

Although the  Maths - No Problem! Visualiser App is aimed at teachers, it can be used by pupils to access the same resources we use in school in our maths lessons.  This includes base ten equipment and place value grids and counters which are used regularly in Key Stage 2 lessons. It can be downloaded free from the Apple App store but you need iPadOS 13.2 to be able to access it.
