In EYFS and KS1 art is blocked according to topic and in KS2 is taught by Miss L Broadbent, a very talented artist who has a passion for art and design.
The Art and Design curriculum at Bay Primary School has been created to engage and inspire the children by exposing them to a range of artists, sculptors and designers from different cultures and periods of time. Throughout school the children are given the opportunity to experiment with a range of styles, techniques and mediums to create their own works of art.
Children from Year 1 to Year 6 are provided with sketch books, which follow them through school and display the progress they make within their skills. Children are encouraged to talk about the work they produce and express their opinions and ideas to others.
Art work at Bay Primary School is celebrated and can be found on the school website and on displays around school for everyone to enjoy.
