Aims and Intent

Our school aims

Our history curriculum at Bay Primary School aims to provide all our pupils a high-quality understanding of Britain’s past and the wider world. We want our pupils to have a sound understanding of chronology and encourage them to be curious about the past by asking questions, thinking critically, evaluating evidence and making judgements. Vocabulary is a key element within our curriculum at Bay Primary School and therefore we will be arming the pupils with the necessary vocabulary to enable them to access and make sense of history.

Through our bespoke curriculum, we have key themes running through our unit plans, there are: how society is organised & transport and will be referred to when and where possible. The children at Bay Primary will also study significant individuals or events from diverse backgrounds which is the basis of our Black History units.
