Making a Splash

Year R

Welcome to EYFS!

In EYFS children are taught the skills and knowledge required to reach the Early Learning Goals across the seven areas of learning and development and to fully prepare them for

Year 1 and the KS1 curriculum. In the Early Years we teach using  a range of methods, including child initiated learning, following the children's interests, whole class teaching, group teaching, investigations, problem solving and independently. Children will have an abundance of opportunities to learn through play. We will ensure that learning will be fun and engaging and we will challenge and support all children where ever their starting point.

Outdoor Provision

Our EYFS team understands and values the importance of the outdoor environment for our children. It is a continuation of our indoor provision and it will be used at every opportunity to provide children with a range of activities and resources to develop their gross motor control and to deepen their imagination and curiosity.

Have a look at the slide show below to see the children having fun and learning in the great outdoors!

We love to read!

At Bay Primary School we promote a love for reading for all children. As part of this, the children in EYFS have all had the opportunity to show case their favourite book from home. The children (and the teachers!) have really enjoyed listened to the children's favourite stories and non- fiction texts. Once the children have talked to their class about why they have chosen their book, the children then create a piece of work to display on our reading wall.

Our Magical Day!

The children had great fun dressing up as part of their 'Magical Day' which they chose as their reward for excellent behaviour.
